The second tournament AI vs. Human took place on 21st June 2011 in Prague in Shangri-la tee shop. The winners of Gomocup 2011 has been confronted against Humans, against the best Czech gomoku players. This time the result AI:Humans was 5:3. More in czech language is here.

There are 11 new gomoku programs with source code and 5 shareware and freeware gomoku programs for PDA ( symbian, windows mobile). And one document about gomoku programming tactics.
Gomocup 2009 will take place on the 4th April and the deadline for sending new brains is the 2nd April 11AM (UTC time).
For 2009 tournament, we will keep the same time limits. The time limits in the qualification groups will be 30 seconds for one turn and 180 seconds for a match. In the finals, the limits will be 300 seconds for the turn and 1200 seconds for a match. The time limits for fastgame are 5s per move and 120s per match. The memory limit is 350 MB.
The prize for the winner of Gomocup 2009 will be 50 euro. We have already chosen 3 openings for the 2009 tournament. So far, we publish the MD5 checksum of the file. The openings will be published after the tournament. More information here.
In downloads section, there is an improved version of Hewer which can also support any size of board and can play with exactly five wins rule. May timeout when low time limits are used.
The 9th Gomocup tournament is finished and the official results are known. The winner is the new version of Tito by Andrej Tokarjev from Hungary. Second and third place were taken by Onix and Garden Gomoku. The quick tournament was also won by Tito. More information about the tournament results can be found on the tournaments page. There were three completely new brains and seven new versions of brains. One of the new brains - Hector for gomoku is a private program and will not be published. The others are available for download.

You can also download a new version of Piskvork manager. The main difference is that opening patterns are not randomly moved but always placed the same way.
Gomocup 2008 will take place on the 19th April in Prague (Czech republic). The deadline for new brains has already passed. There will be 2 completely new brains in the tournament - Hector and FiveInRow. There will be also new versions of Hewer, Swine, Onix, Kanec and HGarden. We now publish the openings together with the private key for possible check with the previously published cyphered version of the openings. The partial results of the tournament being played will be shown online at http://www.gomocup.wz.cz/online. The rules are the same as in 2007. There is no financial prize for the winner this year.

In order to assure maximum fairness of the Gomocup 2008 tournament, we have chosen the opening in advance already in September. As we don't want to let the competitors adapt their programs for those openings, we publish the openings in encrypted form<\a>. Attention! The 8th Gomocup tournament takes place the 27th April 2007 at the University of Plzen in Czech Republic at 7am GMT. This is the first time that there is going to be a prize for the winner - 50 euros! There are no major changes in the tournament rules. We are going to use 3 openings that will be chosen randomly out of those 5 balanced openings. The dealine for sending your programs is 26th April 23:00 GMT. The brains proved to be approximately same strenght as the humans in the yesterday's match against some of the best czech players of www.piskvorky.net. However, the best brain Goro was defeated by Pavel 'Kedlub' Laube. For more information, consult the tournaments page. In the downloads, you'll find the up-to-date versions of HGarden and Goro that participated.
We plan a match of the three best Czech players from piskvorky.net with three best tournament programs for the 11th November in Prague. The best player will match the best program, the second best player will match the second best program and for the third likewise. There will be two games for each match with openings chosen at random from a set proposed by experts. Each player has 30 minutes for each game. If you want to come, contact me by email.

- there will be 3 openings in one game (6 mathes together)
- limits 30 s / move and 3 minutes / match in basic group

The new version of Petr Lastovicka's manager can be executed in a batch, which may be used for automatic testing of a brain, watch the help of the program. It also implements a continuous game which doesn't end when a player scores. To permit this, we updated the syntax of the BOARD and INFO rule commands in the and the board format in the .

The Hungarian Computer "Gomoku" Open Tournament has now a web page, where you can find the invitation for the 2nd hungarian tournament, which will take place 3rd December 2005 and uses the same protocol as Gomocup.

In the documentation section, there is also a report from the first Hungarian Computer Gomoku tournament, which was organized by J. Wagner and I. Virag at 6th June 2005. There were three brains in the tournament, they also tried to match Goro and Swine, but there were some problems with compatibility. Nowadays in October, there should be second tournament in Hungary.
We added an optional command TAKEBACK, which can be used to undo a move to . There are also some changes in the . The brain may use the file msg.dat to send text messages to manager and info.dat to gain some more parameter settings now. Turn limit equal to zero now means that the brain should play as fast as possibble (eg count only a static evaluation and stop searching possibble moves).
There are some changes in the new protocol. BOARD is now mandatory, because we will use more balanced openings in the next tournament. New optional commands were added also.
There was Fishparty gomoku tournament in the city of Hradec Kralove, on the same day as the Gomocup 2005. The winner Ondrej Nykl (Ondik) matched the best three of our brains. He won over Pela and Swine. The game with Goro was a draw. Results are here:

Winner of the sixth tournament, that took place on 16th April in Prague, is program Goro by Viktor Barykin from Russia. The second is Swine by Jiri Fontan and the third is Pela by Petr Lastovicka. 18 programs fought in three qualification groups, 9 of them made it to the finals, where they matched each other. The qualification groups were played home by three different people, others could watch it online. The finals were public and were played in the computer lab of Prague University. There was also an unofficial quick tournament, that was won by Pela. You can find more information here.
You can download new brains of the 2005 tournament - Kanec, Swine, Beta and new versions of Pela, G_motor and QMentat. There are also new versions of both windows managers with lots of improvements (e.g. ftp upload of tournament process, corrections of mistakes, ).

The date of 6th tournament was set to 16th April 2005, but the deadline for new brains is 9th April, because qualification groups will be played in advance. There are changes of tournament rules and system.

I put the results of unofficial tounament on the web. The tournament was played, because the manager didn't work correctly in the official one and the pbrains may have been handicapped. There was no change in results on the first three positions.

The tournament took place yesterday. The winner is Svine 2 followed by Goro and Bestmove. See the tournament results! We had several problems with bugs in the manager again. You can download new tournament versions of QMentat, Hewer2, Bestmove, Svine2, Goro a Pisq.
We're dealing with flushing the outputs in the new protocol. In the present, all brains with new protocol must flush all output to prevent the data from being bufferred.

The Tenzor web manager stopped to work while FTP hasn't worked for a long time, so i have no possibility to upload there anything. The admins do not respond to any mail, so I decided to move the pages to http://gomocup.wz.cz. The email adress is changed to gomocup
